Sadie: 39 Weeks Pregnant

How Far Along: 39 Weeks (7 days until due date)
Size of baby:  over 20 inches long and weighs 7 pounds (a mini watermelon)
Gender: Girl - Sadie
Maternity Clothes: Yes, maternity dresses are outfits of choice.
Weight gain: + 30 pounds

Symptoms: Contractions off & on but nothing consistent
Sleep: sleeping better the last few weeks.
What I miss: Almost starting to miss being pregnant since this will be the last time.
Cravings: Watermelon and chocolate.
Best moment this week:  One last weekend for Emma being an only child.
What I am looking forward to: Sadie. Getting labor over with.
Doctor's appointment recap: Blood pressure: good. Urine: good. + 2 pounds weight gain. The cervical check was uncomfortable but found out that I am 3 cms dilated, 75 % effaced, and still head down. The doctor predicted that Sadie would be the same size or smaller than Emma. I did ask for my membranes to be stripped and I don't remember it being so painful. Last time, a woman stripped them; this time, it was a male. He predicted that I would not make it to my next appointment.

** We were so excited to make it to August (insurance renewal date) and then disappointed that my doctor's appointment had to be delayed 3 days due to medical emergency for the practice. We impatiently waited for this doctor's appointment!

Emma: We went to the ZOO!

Yes, I am very pregnant and we decided to take Emma to the zoo before Sadie arrived ... in the middle of Summer. Emma loved it! Lions were her favorite animals; however, she quickly changed it to giraffe because the lions were being lazy in the heat and the giraffes were eating branches with their long tongues. Emma also enjoyed the monkeys and gorillas because they were doing gymnastics, just like Emma. The train was a favorite and we had to ride in the caboose. I was disappointed in the petting zoo; they only had sheep to pet.

Best moment this week:  Doctor's visit.
What I am looking forward to: Almost the finish line!
Doctor's appointment recap: Urine was good. Blood pressure: good. Sadie has dropped! The fundal height had always been measuring right on track, until this week. I am now measuring 33 weeks. I tested positive for the group b strep; therefore, I will need two doses of antibiotics before labor. I was a bit nervous about this but the more I read, the more comfortable I feel about it. It's common and the likelihood that I'm unable to receive all the antibiotics in time for labor is slim. Cervical check: 3 cm dilated and 50% effaced.
