18 Months Old

Had her 18 month check up and did great! No shots, yay!
Weight: 22lbs 11 oz (25%) Height: 32 in (50%) Head: 46 cm (40%)

Emma: 1 Year 27 Weeks

 

* Size 3 diapers. Size 12 - 18 month clothes. Size 5.5 shoes.
* Emma weighed 22lbs 1 oz at her sick MD visit. She went to the MD on her 1/2 birthday :( She is extremely dehydrated so we got her several flavors of gatorade to try. Being so dehydrated scared me; Emma had no tears weeping out when crying. She slowly got better over the next few days and slowly drank more & more water. Refused milk & gatorade. Hated antiobiotic!
* Had her paci when she was sick.
* Finally better; we survived! Emma decided to celebrate by finding a wiggly worm and holding him for a few minutes, until it became overstretched.
* Rested for the rest of the week.
* No gymnastics this week since we were sick! 

Emma: 1 Year 26 Weeks

* Size 3 diapers. Size 12 & 18 Month clothes. Size 5 - 5.5 shoes.
* Playing on our water table. It's hot!
* Temper tantrum & tears if Emma hears the word "no"
* First day of gymnastic class. It was pure torture for mama & child. Emma cried during the entire session and mama was a hot, sweaty mess! We decided to enroll Emma in a gymnastic class so that she can interact a little bit more in a group setting.
* Stacking & organizing, especially our beach buckets.
* Loves to put stickers on Mama & Daddy.
* Loves gummy bears.
* Sticks her tongue out at the camera.
* Decided to have a slight fever and congested cold towards the end of the week, a little listless too. Maybe this is why Emma acted up in gymnastics ?!?
* After 3 days of fever and tylenol not working, I took Emma took Emma to the doctor. Dr. Hill did swabbed her throat for strep (negative) and also inserted a catheter to test urine for UTI. Poor baby didn't eat or drink much over the past 3 days. It's a really nasty virus so the Dr put Emma on antibiotics to wait for the UTI results to come back (negative). Hated to see her miserable; first sick trip to the doctor.

Emma: 1 Year 25 Weeks

* Size 3 diapers. Size 12 - 18 month clothes. Size 5 - 5.5 shoes
* Loves playing/being outside, except for when Daddy (or anyone else) is using lawn equipment that Emma can hear.
* Mama loves smocked dresses. Can easily get 2+ years out of them! Emma is in her Cinderella 9 month smocked dress.
* Went to the Friday Night concert in Downtown Monroe and Emma had a blast! She also looked adorable in her lobster dress and pigtails. I think her favorite part was eating an ice cream cone all by herself. Little Piggy!
* Got our season football tickets in the mail.
* Went to steak n' shake in Athens. I think that Emma is getting to the point where it's no longer as easy to take her out to eat. Busy, busy, busy.
* Looks for airplanes.

Emma: 1 year 24 weeks

* Size 3 diapers. Size 12 & 18 month clothes. Size 4.5 - 5.5 shoes.
* Been getting out of the house a bit more with Ms. Nicky & Evie ...
   - On Monday, we went to a playdate at a local library. Emma was very unsocial and whiny. There were a lot of kids & adults. We also need to work on sharing skills. Emma was hoarding toys.
   - On Tuesday, we went to a book reading at a local library. Emma did pretty good, although she didn't participate in the songs and she also didn't listen to the story reading. She was very quietly playing in the back of the room.
   -  On Wednesday, we went to a playground. Emma really didn't venture far from me and she hit a bigger kid. Although, the boy was invading Emma's personal space, she needs to learn that we don't hit.
* I feel like I tell Emma "no" a lot, especially in regards to throwing food on the floor, climbing on the kitchen table. She is definitely testing me!
* Finally got the hang of pulling objects correctly.
* Is an organizer.
* Likes to touch the big balls outside Target; of course, we had to purchase a ball for her collection.
* Getting pretty good with her spoon.
