Emma: Week 43
* Size 2 diapers. Size 9 & 12 month clothes.
* Enjoyed being outside this week; we've had warmer weather recently and it's nice to go out!
* Likes to watch the spin cycle of the washing machine; it's on par with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Dinosaur Train!
* Climbs up on the treadmill and then climbs onto the bus; it's difficult for Emma to get down, though.
* Let's go and stands by herself several times a day, for up to 30 seconds at a time.
* Sat on Santa's lap. She was very confused and cried after 10 seconds. No smiling at all.
* Holds her play phone up to ear, like she's talking on it.
* So disappointing about the Dawgs loss; at least we showed up and played a great game! It looks like we will be cheering on a different SEC team in the championship game. (We were SO close!)
* Still having a difficult time getting Emma to eat. Haven't called doctor because she seems to be her normal self.
* Love dressing Emma up in Christmas clothes. So cute!
Emma: Week 42
* Size 2 diapers. Size 6 - 9, 9 and 12 month clothes.
* Emma is curious about the Christmas decorations that we are slowly starting to put out. She has been good so far about not touching.
* Cruising along while holding onto furniture.
* Not eating well. Likes to slap food out off of the spoon and food flies. Emma now gets a bath on a daily basis. Introducing more finger foods for a change.
* First marshmallow (Emma loves!)
* Emma likes to shake the pom-pom.
* Last home football game of the year; now, Emma can spend a little more time with her parents on Saturdays!
Emma: Week 41
* Size 2 diapers. Size 6 - 9, 9 month and 12 month clothes. (Emma can wear dresses in all 3 sizes but pants, onesies and pajamas are 9 & 12 months)
* UGA is # 3! Awesome to see that we control our own destiny! Greg, Emma and I might be taking a trip down to Miami in early January!
* Emma hasn't been eating well for a few days. This is unusual because she is a GREAT eater. New teeth?
* Stats: 18 lbs 2 oz (50%), 27 1/4 inches (45%), and head circumference is 43 cm (10%). The NP said that Emma was right on track with all developments, especially not having any separation anxiety.
* Likes to say "Hi" and "Bye" all day long.
*Waves whenever we say "wave" instead of randomly. I love it when she waves at cars.
* Went to Savannah for Thanksgiving and Emma loved all of the attention:
* She enjoyed the whipped cream that Grandad gave her (first sweet).
* Enjoyed knocking down all of the magazines from Gigi and Papou's coffee table (favorite activity!)
* Traveled well; it's definitely best to travel at night, while Emma's sleeping. It's only fair to do this instead of Emma wanting to get out of the car seat and play.
* Went Black Friday shopping and got Emma some clothes.
* Was willing to let everyone hold her.

Emma: Week 40
* Size 2 diapers. Size 6 - 9, 9 month and 12 month clothes.
* Emma turns 9 months this week! Her well check-up is next week. We also had Christmas photos done this week (had a coupon). No preview of the Christmas photo; it's too early!
* Congrats Dawgs on winning the SEC East and for being ranked # 5. Greg and I have always said that we would pay any amount of $ to go watch UGA play in the National Championship game. Will it be this year?!?
* I can't believe that Thanksgiving is next week and I haven't done any Christmas shopping!
* Current feeding schedule: Emma nurses 4 times a day or about every 4 hours (8, 12, 4, 8). She also eats 3 large meals a day, about 6 ounces of food per feeding.
* I still make about 90% of Emma's food; it saves us a good bit of money, is easy to make, and gives Emma more options. I love it! I'm also introducing spices to Emma and Emma seems to enjoy everything. I do try to buy organic whenever possible.
* The only food that I do not make: meat, applesauce, yogurt, and I buy a few jars if we are going out. (I made chicken once and it made our house smell so Greg nixed the idea of making meat.)
* Talking up a storm and loves to baby talk in sentences.

Emma: Week 39
* Size 2 diapers. Size 6 - 9 and 9 month clothes.
* Had fun chasing cousin Dylan around the house on Saturday; he didn't want Emma to catch him but she was very quick!
* Doing much better during nap time. She usually cries for 2 minutes before drifting off to sleep. I started to put Emma in the pack n' play during naps so that she will sleep better in Savannah during the Holidays.
* Emma voted with Mama; it took longer for Emma to ham it up for everyone than it did to vote. No lines, yay! (At least the charter school amendment won ... there's hope that Emma might be going to public school after all :) I feel sorry for my daughter's generation and what they will be facing.)
* Greg thinks that Emma will be walking (with assistance) by Thanksgiving; I'm thinking Christmas is when we will have a solo walker. Emma is becoming more & more steady while taking steps (when holding on to something).
* I made lactation cookies this week; it's supposed to help boost your milk supply. I only have about 3 months to go and I want to make sure that Emma gets the best nutrition that she can. (No, it's not as gross as it sounds ... you add ingredients that helps your supply and no, my milk isn't one of the ingredients!)
* Went to the park on Sunday and enjoyed the last bit of outside weather before we hibernate for the winter.
* We all were sick with colds this week. Emma was the first one, being really snotty, then Greg and I caught it about the same time. This is the 2nd cold for Emma. I can only imagine what it would have been like if Emma was in daycare.
Happy Halloween
Emma was Pebbles Flintstone for Halloween 2012. We thought her hair would look so cute and I wanted to make her costume and this was an easy costume to make! Emma was definitely hamming it up for the camera!
