Emma: Week 15

Highlights:

* Size 3, 3 - 6, and 6 month clothes and size 1 diapers.
* Emma is now getting a bath twice a week. Sometimes she enjoys bath time; other times, Emma cries the entire time.
* Still enjoys the crinkle square, which we give her as entertainment during car rides. She will play with this until she falls asleep.
* Greg took out the newborn head support; Emma's shoulders were too big and now she is much more comfortable.
* Found her hands a few weeks ago; it is a struggle to keep her fingers out of her mouth & replacing these fingers with toys or a pacifier.
* Still drooling A LOT ... when will the new teeth come in??
* Emma loves looking at our iPhones; I showed her a video of herself talking & laughing. Emma loved this & started laughing at the video, with a big, goofy grin on her face.
* Likes the activity table; we took off the legs so that Greg & I could sit with her on the floor and play.
* I also put her back in the jumperoo. (Greg assembled when Emma turned 3 months but she was too small.) Now, Emma will sit and play with it a little bit. She is still a bit small for the jumperoo.
* Loves to stand, with our support of course!
* Chewing on everything: fingers, toys, clothes, pacifier.

* I had my first clogged duct over the long weekend; I developed flu-like symptoms, with fever, that finally went away after three days. Thankfully, this was resolved quickly!

Emma: Week 14

Highlights:

- Wearing size 1 diapers and 3 & 3 - 6 month clothes.
- Emma had a great time playing with Aunt Stacy!
- Aunt Stacy also brought some fun new toys and cute outfits. (Emma LOVES Sophie, the giraffe teething ring, and the crinkle square.)
- I brought a long floor mirror into the playroom so that Emma can look at her reflection more often; she loves to sit in front of the mirror, staring at herself and looking up at me as I prop her up.
- Tummy time has improved so much; she enjoys it as long as she is entertained with a toy.
- Emma is laughing, talking, and giggling.
- Sleeping great at night: 9pm - 6am
- Nap time isn't as routine but I try to make sure that she takes a good 1.5 - 2 hour nap in the morning & afternoon. (If Emma doesn't take long naps, then she's cranky & tired at the end of the day)
- Feeding every 2 - 2.5 hours during the day; on-demand feeding works for us!

Emma: Week 13

Emma's Highlights:

* 3 month clothes and size 1 diapers. (Emma has worn a few 6 month shirt-tops but we are treating them like dresses.)
* Went to Mommy and Me group: Emma weighs 11 lbs 12 oz; another 5 oz gain. She also took 4.16 oz of milk.
* She is Miss Personality and I love it!
* Makes tons of faces and has many different smiles.
* Still chewing on everything and drool is out of control!
* Enjoys tummy-time and is so close to rolling over; I have my camera ready!
* Still sleeping great! At night, we put her in bed around 9 - 9:30 and she sleeps until 5:45. On a good day, Emma takes 2 x 2hour naps.
* Loves the mirror

Emma: Week 12

Highlights:

* 0 - 3 month clothes and size 1 diapers
* Went to Mommy & Me group at the hospital. Emma weights 11 lbs 7 oz, gaining 5 oz in 9 days, which is right on track. Her weight is supposed to slow down after three months. She took 4 oz of breastmilk. Emma did great at tummy-time because she was so fascinated with the other babies.
* Played with Mimi and Grandad on Tuesday - she had a great time!
* Sleeping longer periods throughout the day.
* Feeding every 2 - 3 hours hours
* No hair loss - still growing.
* Sleeping between 6 - 8 hours at night.
* Greg has been putting Emma to bed much earlier and she has been doing great! (Greg misses the tummy-time with Emma but doesn't miss her fussiness at night.)
* Chewing on everything, including hands, spit-up cloths, and toys
* Enjoys "airplane" with Daddy
* Loves sitting on Mommy's dresser to look at herself in the mirror
* Greg introduced the ball-popper but she doesn't get it just yet.
* Can smile all day.
* Still likes the activity mat. She rolled from stomach to back on the activity mat. I had leaned Emma over the elephant pillow and she worked the hips until she was half-way, then all the way over, on her back. She has done this twice now.

Emma: Week 11

 Emma's Highlights:

* Size 1 diapers and 0 - 3 month clothes
* Haven't tried the 6 month sleepers yet but will start that next week
* Is not a morning person; she would rather sleep through the morning and be active in the afternoons.
* Takes a good nap around lunch time (2+ hours) then plays all afternoon.
* Starting to drool like crazy; this is a self-cleaner to keep the bad bacteria out of her mouth. (it would be VERY early for a tooth to be coming in but it's a possibility too.)
* Full of big, goofy grins and talks a lot. New word: unk-oo. (Sounds like thank you, so I always reply "you're welcome")
* Sleeping from 10:30PM - 5:30AM ... slowly starting to sleep through the night
* Will play on the activity mat for about 20 minutes so that I can get something done (eat, clean, etc.)
* Breastfeeding update: Looks like the crack is healed, no pain, and the thrush seems to be gone. We are visiting with the LC on Monday for a Mommy & Infant group.
* Didn't venture out of the house this week; I tried to lay out pine straw during nap time...thank goodness that's over!
* About Mom: I've noticed that my right arm is becoming more toned than my left; I'll start to carry her more with my left arm to even it out!
* Greg and I went to the Fox Theatre to see Les Miserables. It was our first date night since Emma was born and Emma's first night without us. Greg's parents babysat for 6 hours! It was nice to get away for a little bit but we sure did miss our little girl.
