Emma: Week 40

 * Size 2 diapers. Size 6 - 9, 9 month and 12 month clothes.
* Emma turns 9 months this week! Her well check-up is next week. We also had Christmas photos done this week (had a coupon). No preview of the Christmas photo; it's too early!
* Congrats Dawgs on winning the SEC East and for being ranked # 5. Greg and I have always said that we would pay any amount of $ to go watch UGA play in the National Championship game. Will it be this year?!?
* I can't believe that Thanksgiving is next week and I haven't done any Christmas shopping!
* Current feeding schedule: Emma nurses 4 times a day or about every 4 hours (8, 12, 4, 8). She also eats 3 large meals a day, about 6 ounces of food per feeding.
* I still make about 90% of Emma's food; it saves us a good bit of money, is easy to make, and gives Emma more options. I love it! I'm also introducing spices to Emma and Emma seems to enjoy everything. I do try to buy organic whenever possible.
* The only food that I do not make: meat, applesauce, yogurt, and I buy a few jars if we are going out. (I made chicken once and it made our house smell so Greg nixed the idea of making meat.)
* Talking up a storm and loves to baby talk in sentences.

9 Months

Emma: Week 39

* Size 2 diapers. Size 6 - 9 and 9 month clothes.
* Had fun chasing cousin Dylan around the house on Saturday; he didn't want Emma to catch him but she was very quick!
* Doing much better during nap time. She usually cries for 2 minutes before drifting off to sleep. I started to put Emma in the pack n' play during naps so that she will sleep better in Savannah during the Holidays.
* Emma voted with Mama; it took longer for Emma to ham it up for everyone than it did to vote. No lines, yay! (At least the charter school amendment won ... there's hope that Emma might be going to public school after all :) I feel sorry for my daughter's generation and what they will be facing.)
* Greg thinks that Emma will be walking (with assistance) by Thanksgiving; I'm thinking Christmas is when we will have a solo walker. Emma is becoming more & more steady while taking steps (when holding on to something).
* I made lactation cookies this week; it's supposed to help boost your milk supply. I only have about 3 months to go and I want to make sure that Emma gets the best nutrition that she can. (No, it's not as gross as it sounds ... you add ingredients that helps your supply and no, my milk isn't one of the ingredients!)
* Went to the park on Sunday and enjoyed the last bit of outside weather before we hibernate for the winter.
* We all were sick with colds this week. Emma was the first one, being really snotty, then Greg and I caught it about the same time. This is the 2nd cold for Emma. I can only imagine what it would have been like if Emma was in daycare.

Happy Halloween

 Emma was Pebbles Flintstone for Halloween 2012. We thought her hair would look so cute and I wanted to make her costume and this was an easy costume to make! Emma was definitely hamming it up for the camera!

Emma: Week 38

* Size 2 diapers. Size 6 - 9 and 9 month clothes.
* Aunt Stacy came to visit with us for a few days and Emma had a fun time playing!
* Emma likes to drop Cheerios under her highchair and will crawl over there later for a snack. I call this area "Cheerio Lane." Emma frequents this area several times a day.
* I put Emma's hair in a ponytail as part of her costume for Halloween; this might happen more often since it's so easy to put back and she usually doesn't bother it.
* Likes to play with her balls: beach ball, basketball, soccer ball, football. They are all Emma-sized.
* Is curious about the stairs.
* If Emma doesn't like the food, she will smack the spoon, sending food flying.
* Went to Helen for the day with Mimi, Grandad, and Aunt Stacy. Emma was very interested in the horse and bunnies. It was cold but pretty with the fall colors!
* Another fun day of tailgating with Mama, Dada, Grammie and Grandpa.

Emma: Week 37

* Size 2 diapers. Size 6 - 9 and 9 month clothes. (Putting away the 6 month clothes; they are getting too short!)
* I noticed that Emma has such good posture while sitting up.
* Likes to climb and go down the slide that Cousin Dylan gave Emma.
* Naps are getting better because I am letting her cry herself to sleep. Usually it takes about 15 - 20 minutes of Emma moving around in the crib before she conks out.
* Likes to smack her hand down on any surface, I guess for the noise.
* Enjoys babbling, and having a conversation.
* Also, I noticed that Emma likes to play by herself too and will quietly play.
* In the mornings, I have cartoons on for background noise and Emma enjoys Sesame Street, Dinosaur Train, and Mickey's Playhouse.
* Had fun at Alan, Liza and Molly's house; Emma had fun playing with Molly. Molly let Emma borrow her playhouse and also introduced the doorstop to Emma, both fun toys that Emma enjoys!

Pumpkin Patch

Emma enjoyed riding in the wagon that we brought and she also loved the little chair.

Emma: Week 36

* Size 6, 6 - 9 and 9 month clothes. Size 2 diapers.
* Naps are still not going well. Emma pulls up and screams and I end up getting Emma within a few minutes.
* Gives us all different types of expressions: mischievous, proud, cute, sleepy, fussy ... Ms. Attitude!
* We try to go to the park once a week to swing; Emma loves being outside.
* Likes to kiss herself in the mirror.
* Have to watch Emma like a hawk; she tends to play with and get into things she isn't supposed to: fireplace, wires, tv stand, cabinets, dishwasher.
* Can wave; the neighbors love when Emma waves at them while they are driving past.
* Emma definitely hams it up when people are praising her beauty. (She babbles and coos at them.)
* Just ordered a whole bunch of bows off of etsy. I'm excited that Emma has more of a color selection now. The bows aren't too big because Greg and I compromised on bow size. Not to brag ;) but I love that Emma has a lot of hair for Mama to play with!
