Emma: Week 49

 * Size 3 diapers. Size 12 month clothes.
* 11 Months this week.
* sticks her tongue out when prompted.
* Can walk with one hand using walker.
* Likes to unravel toilet paper from the roll and drums on the toilet seat.
* Sticks her face in the bathwater to drink.
* Fighting naps this week; takes her a little bit longer than normal to settle down and fall asleep.
* Greg went on overnight business travel. The first time I've been alone with Emma overnight. She woke up screaming at 11:30; we snuggled for a minute and she fell back asleep.
* Likes to tumble. Puts her head on the ground, with legs straight and butt in air and wants us to make her somersault. We are going to sign her up for a gym class this spring/summer.

Emma: Week 48

* Size 3 diapers. Size 9 & 12 month clothes. 9 month pants are too tight, mostly 12 month clothes.
* Likes to share her food with you.
* Bought a storage system for Emma's smaller toys, which is working out great.
* Can use the walker, yay! Here's hoping that she's walking by her birthday.
* Likes her riding car. Emma likes to be pushed.
* Points at everything.
* Sticks her tongue out; I think she just discovered her tongue.If we stick our tongue out at Emma, she will do it back to us.

Emma: Week 47

 Trying to get back to a normal routine. Our routine, which has never been too strict, was a little off balance due to Greg being home for a few weeks and being on the go. We sure did miss Greg when he went back to work, though.

* Size 2 diapers. Size 9 & 12 month clothes.
* Pointing at everything.
* Will babble on cue.
* Everything is not "hi" this week, maybe we can develop some new words soon.
* Loves giving kisses which Greg and I LOVE.
* Doesn't understand how to use the walker but she sure does like the music on the walker.
* DANCE, DANCE, DANCE
* Likes to trick and play games with everyone. If someone wants a kiss, Emma will turn her head, smiling, like she's saying "haha." After several times of doing this, Emma will relent and give a big, wet slobbering kiss.
* Taste buds must have changed, or Emma's going through a phase. She doesn't like orange foods (sweet potatoes, butternut squash), which she had loved previously. And she will only eat greens if it has applesauce in it. She also likes to stick her fingers in her mouth and try to pull out food.

Christmas in Savannah

 Greg, Emma and I went to Savannah the day after Christmas. We all had a great time and Emma slept so well! I know that Mimi enjoyed Emma time in the morning when everyone else was sleeping. Emma started to get the hang of opening presents by this time, but she would also get preoccupied with everyone and everything. She sure did get A LOT of toys, books and clothes.

I also got a little pampering done; I finally had my hair lightened, yay, since it had grown even darker since Emma was born and those stubborn grays weren't going away!

Emma had her first lemon at Crystal Beer Parlor. Everyone at the table was enjoying Emma's reactions as she continually kept trying to eat the lemon, then sour face expression every time. SO CUTE! Thanks Aunt Stacy for shooting the video. We left on NYE-E.

Christmas

Christmas is magical with a baby/a child of your own. Greg and I didn't exchange gifts this year so it was really all about Emma!

Christmas Eve: 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' was read in front of a roaring fireplace and cookies and milk were placed on the mantle for Santa. Emma decided to try the gingerbread cookies to make sure they were good enough for Santa.

 Christmas: Emma got up her normal time of around 7:30. I nursed her upstairs and we went downstairs to see what Santa had brought. Not much of a reaction from Emma about opening the presents. Probably because she gets toys from us all the time. Emma did enjoy the bows but didn't really open up the presents. I'm not going to lie, I was a little disappointed that Emma wasn't as excited as I was. We had a nice, laid-back morning and afternoon of relaxation. At G/G Wassel's, Emma was about the same with opening presents. She did enjoy the dog's toys, probably because of the squeakers.

Emma: Week 46

* Size 2 diapers. Size 9 & 12 month clothes.
* Has soaked through a couple of diapers during nap time this week; we will be upgrading to size 3 when this current supply of 2 runs out.
* Likes the bell necklace that we discovered among our Christmas decorations. Emma loves to shake and eat it.
* Emma had Christmas at several different houses and she did so great going from person to person. When she's had enough, Em let's everyone know!
* Finally got into opening presents but she enjoyed wrapping paper, bows, and ribbon the best.

Emma: Week 45

* Size 2 diapers. size 9 & 12 month clothes.
* Full of smiles, giggles and attitude.
* Found new games on the iPad and Emma loves them! Fully entertained and interacts.
* Likes to hang out with Greg in the morning, while he is getting dressed for work. Emma has usually nursed and had breakfast and is ready to play!
* Enjoys throwing everything down and playing fetch with anyone; it's a fun game.
* Slides down the slide by herself, usually headfirst. Don't worry, Mama is close by.
* Enjoyed a nice day outside, a rarity during this time of year. Emma likes to crawl around in the grass and eat grass, twigs, mulch and pine straw.
* Has been a little bit of a snuggler lately, which Greg and I both love.
* Not walking but still cruising along furniture.
