* Size 3 diapers, size 12 month clothes, size 3.5 shoes.
* Finally likes to pop bubbles instead of staring at them as they float away. She likes to run after them.
* Loves playing outside and knows exactly where her sunhat and bubbles are kept in addition to Mama's sunglasses so that we can go outside.
* New word: buh for bow. (Love having a little girl, hehe) and ball
* 5th tooth has erupted. (2nd left on bottom)
* Plays with balls of all sizes: tennis, golf, kick
* Moves the activity table around the playroom for her morning exercise and will return it to the original position
* Visited the Easter bunny. Emma would wave and point at him from a distance but as soon as she sat on the bunny's lap, Emma cried. Emma is smiling in the photo but it is a very timid/nervous smile.
* Mild fever with rosy cheeks one day but it went away overnight with some tylenol. She was very snuggly that day but back to her normal self the next day.

Emma: 1 year 4 weeks
* Size 12 month clothes. Size 3.5 shoes. Size 3 diapers.
* Ready to put some cute spring/summer clothes on Emma! Emma's closet is PACKED with cute sundresses and summery outfits and I am ready to put away her winter clothes.
* Has been taking long naps - growth spurt? Emma still takes two naps throughout the day. Usually they both last an hour long but lately they have been well over 1 hour.
* Been doing fantastic with milk. Had a record of 12 ounces yesterday.
* Dropped another nursing session so we are now down to the bedtime nursing session; Emma has been fine with dropping her feedings.
* Went to the park on a blustery day to meet Dada during lunch but Emma didn't enjoy it at all!
* Has been doing much better with walking.
*. The playset is built and Emma loves it! Her favorite parts are the tire swing toddler bucket/swing, and slide. She likes to slide down the slide by herself. It was a perfect weekend for Emma to take advantage of it.
* Next week, we are going to work on 1 nap since over the weekend Emma has been taking 2.5 hour naps in the morning then no more naps until bedtime. She does get tired around 5 so I'm going to put her down for naps a little later than her norm.

Packing Up
I have been putting away outgrown clothes for awhile now but we have been putting away a lot more than that recently ... until Baby # 2! We said goodbye to the breastpump, bottles, and the boppy. Sigh! I cannot believe that Emma and I made it past one year of nursing. I am so glad that I was able to share this INCREDIBLE bond with my daughter. Not everyone is able to nurse but I am one of the luck ones and I plan/hope to do it again.
With Emma's first year already gone by, I've been able to look back and think how special this year was for me. I was fortunate to stay at home with Emma and am blessed to be able to do it again during her second year. A big thank you goes out to Greg for supporting us! Do to my being able to stay at home and nurse, Emma has survived the first year with 2 minor colds. That being said, when Emma goes to school, I have a feeling that she will get sick A LOT. It was a very important decision that Greg and I made about me staying at home and Emma being nursed. This has saved us a lot of money and allowed Emma to have one on one attention. We were also fortunate enough to make friends with another SAHM and daughter in our neighborhood and now Emma will learn the important task of playing nicely. (Emma likes to pull hair!)
These items that I have put away makes me sad and reminds me how quickly this first year went; however, they will come out soon enough with Emma's younger sibling. I look forward to what the next year brings with Emma and the wonderful memories that Greg, Emma and I will make as a family!

Emma: 1 year 5 weeks
* Size 3 diapers. Size 12 month clothes. Size 3.5 shoes.
* Turned 13 Months this week.
* Started to carry around Mama's purse, keys and sunglasses around the house. She's always ready to go.
* No more new words, perfecting bubble and balloons.
* Doesn't like to pop bubbles, just say the word constantly when we are playing outside with them.
* Still doing nighttime nursing session since we are in Savannah this weekend.
* Can't decide if we are going down to 1 nap or still at 2. We have done both this week and I'm letting her dictate to me what she wants to do.
* Has finally mastered the art of walking; it took longer than we thought!

Saint Patrick's Day 2013
I was a bit nervous as to how Emma will behave during this long day but she did great and even had 2 naps! Before the parade started, Emma was able to walk all around the street to get her energy used up a little. She fell asleep on Greg for about 45 minutes during the parade. In the square, Emma definitely wanted to roam around a little bit and barely let me or Greg eat lunch but she ended up taking another nap. Emma would hardly go to anyone else, except Mimi or Grandad. She was also able to say a quick hello to her friend, Mary Kate!
All in all, a fantastic second parade for Emma and we look forward to many more!

Emma: 1 year 3 weeks
* Took off pants during her nap. Emma was out of view from the monitor so I couldn't see what was going on. When I walked into her room post-nap, Emma was holding up her pants. hehe.
* It has been so miserably cold and rainy lately but there was one day that we could go outside and we took advantage of it! Emma and I played with bubbles. She is such a BIG fan and says bubbles quite well.
* Starting to pose for the camera; does a head tilt like her Mama.
* Doing much better with drinking cow's milk. We finally had full cow's milk with a dash of vanilla in it and we also dropped another nursing session in the middle of the day. (2 down 2 to go) Emma now drinks about 1 cup a day.
* Still walking & crawling.
* Had her first fever but tylenol took care of that very quickly and fever was gone overnight. She also developed a rash over the weekend. Greg and I think it was from the chickenpox vaccine. The all over body rash has diminished greatly so I didn't call the pediatrician.
* Had her first icecream at Chickfila; Emma loved it!
* We purchased a fort/swingset for Emma over the weekend; it will be installed this week, right before the beautiful weather hits!

Emma: 1 year 2 weeks
Not happy with Mama! |
Pigtails! |
* Emma's 12 month check up went great. Stats: weighs 19lbs 5 oz (25%), 29 3/4 inches tall (75%), and head circumference: 45 cm (50%). Poor thing had 4 vaccines and a finger prick. She cried for about 20 seconds then was over it. Was sleepy/snuggly for a few days after the vaccines.
* Started to wean from nursing to cow's milk and dropped the 3rd nursing session (3pm). She didn't like the cow's milk at all.
* Greg put Emma's hair in pigtails; she looked so cute.
* First UGA baseball game. We left during the 10th inning but they lost.
* Started shopping for swing/play sets for Emma; this is her birthday present from Mama and Dada.
* Progress in weaning after several days; I diluted the cow's milk with water since breastmilk is thin. The first few days I diluted 50%/50% with Emma drinking about 4 - 5 oz of milk (8 - 10 oz solution). I lowered the water ratio and added a little bit of vanilla and she is still doing well. Haven't dropped any additional nursing sessions and Emma is not getting any water/juice, just milk all day long.
* Everyone said that Emma will take off with walking but Emma is going to do her own thing and slowly learn to walk. She crawls a lot more than we expected at this point but we learned that it's Emma's pace not anyone elses.
* Is learning a few more words: bubbles, balloons, I get it.
* Follows directions very well; will go get a book from the shelf or to certain toys when asked.
