Savannah Trip

Greg had a long business trip so the girls and I took a trip down to Savannah. It was a long drive down and we stopped twice because of feedings and bathroom trips.

Emma slept in Mimi & Grandad's room in her blow up mattress and had a blast. Sadie and I slept in the guest bedroom. It was so nice to just lean over to put the pacifier in, instead of getting out of bed. Emma had so much fun with her great grandparents; she enjoyed riding the carousel and train at the mall, coloring, and playing at the playground. Sadie did great being passed from one person to the next.

Our trip home seemed to go a little more quickly; however, we did make 4 stops due to bathroom trips and 1 feeding.

Sadie: Week 9

Highlights:
* Size 1 diapers and 0 - 3 mth and 3 M clothes
* Not on a nap schedule yet.
* Still sleeps about 3 - 4 hours through one stretch at night
* Loves tummy-time and rolls over tummy to back constantly.

* Hands are still in fists most of the time; she is starting to relax them a little bit more
* Smiles constantly, especially at Mommy. My favorite is when she smiles during a feeding.
* Starting to just put her thumb in her mouth, instead of several fingers.
* Feeds every 3 - 3.5 hours during day; on demand feeding.
* Very good at following me and Greg around the room with her eyes.
* After a fun 3 days in Savannah; we are back to tailgating!
* Sadie had her first bottle and took it like a champ; much better than Emma, per Greg. Greg and I had our first date, by going to the Tennessee game and it was my first time away from Sadie. She took about 5 ounces per bottle.
* 2 Months old!
* I know that Emma didn't have this "issue": Sadie poops constantly, pretty much in every single diaper that I change. She is also very gassy, but it doesn't seem to bother her.

Sadie: Week 8

Sadie's Highlights:

+ Sleeping 3 - 4 hour stretches at night. Still working on getting Sadie to fall asleep. Feedings do not help!
- Size 1 diapers; Size 0 - 3 and 3 M clothes.
+ Feeds every 3 - 3.5 hours during the day.
- I'm a baby wearer with Sadie; it's so much easier to put Sadie in the bjorn while shopping with the girls.
+ It's much more difficult to take pictures of Sadie on a daily basis, like I did with Emma. Emma likes to get in all the pictures or I'm just too busy playing with the girls.

I was diagnosed with Thrush this week and had to go on antibiotics and a cream to clear it up. It had caused cracks as well. Luckily, I don't think Sadie caught it. It was caused by the antibiotics given to me while at the hospital because of group b strep. I can't believe it stays in the system for over 6 weeks.

Sadie: Week 7

My postpartum visit went well. I'm right at pre-pregnancy with Sadie weight, although my pants are a little snug. The doctor said that everything looked great, including the stitches. Sadie was great and slept most of the time. I will have to return in a few months for annual exam.

Sadie's highlights:
+ sleeping okay: 3 - 4 hour stretches. The main problem is that it takes a good 1.5 hours of going in the room multiple times for her to go to sleep. It's exhausting! Sadie wakes up in the 2am and 6 am hour on a regular basis. She is a tummy sleeper; I'm okay with this because Sadie rolls over and has great head control.
- Not sleeping that well in the crib during nap time. Likes to nap against the boppy or on Mommy.
+ Days are filled with watching Emma and trying to squeak in a few coos.
- She loves her bouncer.
+ Size 1 diapers; 0 - 3 months and 3 M clothes. The clothes fit great and we have retired the NB clothes.
- Follows us with her eyes around the room, making sure we aren't too far away. Loves to watch her big sister.
+ Is a fan of the pacifier and her fingers.
- Feeding every 3 hours during the day; about 5 - 6 times in a 24 hour period.
+ Favorite toy: Emma's princess stables. She likes to watch the horses go down the ramps.  - I can't believe how well she tolerates Emma holding her and wiggling her around.
+ Smiling, especially when you get in her face.

I am exhausted by the end of the day with the girls.
