- Still wearing size 1 diapers and NB, 0 - 3, and 3 month clothes.
+ Took the girls to gymnastics all by myself. Sadie slept through it all, in the car seat.
- Started cooing a little this week.
+Visited Bear Hollow Zoo and Sadie stayed in the baby carrier the entire time.
-Can't believe how well she tolerates being picked up and jostled by Emma. It rattles my nerves!
+ Sleeps about 4 - 6 hours at night. It's almost guaranteed that she will wake up in the 2AM hour; although, Sadie did make it until 4am one day.
- Very alert baby; she likes to look around at everything and very quietly takes it all in.
+Favorite toy: the princess stables. Sadie likes to watch the horses go down the ramps.
- Sat in the bumbo for the first time and loved it.
Trying to get Sadie to sleep in her crib during naptime. She will sleep anywhere else: the boppy, bouncer, mommy.

Sadie: Week 5
Sadie turned one month this week. She's not as much of a talker as Emma was at this age but that's probably because she has to compete with Emma's talkativeness. We had a visit from GG Sis this week and Emma has found another favorite person. Sadie has been rolling over from tummy to back. Likes to suck the side of her thumb and pointer finger, creating a sore spot. Not smiling too much yet. Great head control!
Has been very gassy and crying a bit more than usual this week. Eyes go cross-eyed when she focuses on an object close at hand. Started using the baby carrier this week and Sadie and I both like it; so much easier than toting a car seat around.
Went to Friday Night concert in Monroe; Sadie and Emma both enjoyed it. Emma's favorite part was the green (mint) ice cream and playing with children.
Sadie now wears size 1 diapers and NB, 0-3 and 3 month clothes. She is still sleeping great - usually up to feed around 2 AM and 6 AM.

Emma's 2.5 year appointment
Weight: 29 lbs 15 ounces (50%)
Height: 37 inches (75%)
Head circumference: 48 1/2 cm (50%)
Took Emma to the doctor for her 2/5 year checkup. Greg couldn't come due to work. Emma did great as they checked her weight, height and head. No shots today. The NP did ask Emma several questions (what does a dog say, count to 10, hop on 1 foot). Emma did everything, except hopping on 1 foot; I guess she thought that it was only done at gymnastics.

UGA vs. Clemson
Sadie's first tailgate experience was a success ... and hot! We tailgated in our normal spot next to GA Center so that made it easy for Sadie to get out of the heat and sun. Emma loved the cheerleaders and the clown. She has had her picture taken with the same cheerleader for the past three years and had her face painted by Ms. Lollipop, the clown. We also got to meet (and pet) UGA. Emma was very intimidated by him and refused to touch him.
I wasn't able to go to the game because Sadie doesn't take a bottle just yet, but Mom and I were able to watch the game at home. Aunt Stacy also came to visit and she soon became a favorite person of Emma's.

Sadie: Week 4
* Moved up to size 1 diapers to help with the diaper rash.
* Still wearing NB clothes, although I have put her in a few 0 - 3 month clothes.
* During the day, Sadie likes to nurse every 2 - 3 hours (usually every 3)
*Diaper rash isn't improving; Sadie has had some airing out time this week. Sadie poops (at least a little) in every diaper; I don't remember Emma going this much.
* Has very good head control and can scoot/army crawl to her pacifier.
* Likes to nap on her boppy.
* Sleeping is going well. Sadie slept a 5 hour stretch one night this week, but mostly she sleeps 3 - 4 hour stretches.
* Her awake period is lasting longer and longer, although some days she sleeps for longer stretches than others. She can be awake for several hours at a time.
I can't believe how well Sadie tolerates Emma; she rarely cries and is very even keel. My parents and sister came into town for Labor Day weekend. and we took Sadie tailgating. It was very hot but Sadie stayed inside the GA Center for most of the time and did great.

Sadie: Week 3
* Wearing size 1 diapers, NB and 0 - 3 month clothes.
* Favorite place to nap: bouncer or boppy.
* Great head control. Has rolled over from tummy to back several times.
* Teaching big sister not to big Sadie up or kiss on the lips.
MD Appointment: Sadie weighs 7 lbs 9 oz (50th percentile), 19 1/4 inches long (25th percentile) and head circumference is 34 1/2 cm (25th percentile). Sadie still has jaundice but doctor said it could take another few weeks due to breastfeeding. Reached birth weight and everything looks great. . Her next appointment will be in October, for her 2 month well check-up.
My mom came to help out this week for a few days and Emma sure did love her Mimi time. Sadie seems to be awake for longer periods. She is definitely interested in looking around but doesn't do much talking/cooing. Sadie has had a diaper rash for about a week now that we are trying to clear up. I think that Sadie will be a Mommy's girl.
Nighttime routine has been fine; I am usually up 2 times and Sadie sleeps 3 - 4 hour increments. Have started a supply of milk to help with the engorgement.
I think that Emma is still having a tough time adjusting, or really just doesn't know how to be gentle. She kisses Sadie on the mouth (we are telling her to kiss Sadie on the cheeks.), and kicks/hits Sadie. Emma does like to help, though; her favorite activity is to help Mommy change her diaper and give Sadie a bath.

Sadie: Week 2
* Breastfeeding: I
hope it's going well. She feeds at least every 2-3 hours during the day
and every 3 hours at night, and on demand. Nipples are a little sore and scabbing over.
* Nighttime: she is sleeping in 2 - 3 hour increments. Greg is back at work; however, he is helping with Emma, who is getting out of bed several times each night. She wakes up cry/screaming about how her stuffed animals fell off the bed, she needs to put her head on her pillow, or needs to pee/poop.
* I am still recovering well. Lost all my baby weight and back to pre-Sadie weight, but not size!
* Sadie enjoys being swaddled, her bouncer seat and tummy time. She has great head control.
* Still sleeping most of the day and tends to sleep through Emma's squeals.
* Took Sadie to hospital for lactation help for sore nipples and latching. She latches on great, but is making my nipples hurt during and after feedings. The LC said that Sadie is a good sucker and just need to work on her opening her mouth wider. LC said to introduce pacifier so she won't use me as one. When I weighed Sadie after 5 minutes of eating, I discovered that she had gulped down 1 ounce of milk, which is a lot; LC said that Sadie is trying to stop the flow by gumming down on me.
* Emma likes to be in all the pictures, but at least she smiles/cheeses in most of them. Emma loves to hold her baby sister.
* Took Emma & Sadie to the splash pad. Sadie stayed in the shade the entire time and Emma had a great time with Naomi.
