Sadie: Week 1

Sadie was born on Tuesday, August 5 & we brought her home on August 7. Here are a few things that we learned about our daughter:

* She likes to be swaddled.

* Sleeps 2 - 3 hour periods at night.

* Sadie goes through A LOT of diapers, about 10 - 12 per day.

* Pacifier: Doesn't use the pacifier very much.

* Wearing NB diapers and clothing

First MD visit: When Sadie was born, the OB noticed a bruising on the back of the head from the forceful evacuation and she said that Sadie would have jaundice. We noticed the jaundice appearing on day 3 and she has had yellow eyes since then. Dr. Hill visited Sadie on days 1 & 2 at the hospital and we went to the doctor on day 4. Sadie scored 8 & 9 on APGAR. On Thursday, August 7, the day of discharge from the hospital, Sadie weighted 6 lbs 12 oz. On Friday, August 8, Sadie weighed 6 lbs 14 oz.

 Greg did stay at home the first week to help out. It was a big adjustment for Emma. She loves her baby sister but is a little rough with her and tries to pick her up. If Emma becomes frustrated or we tell her "no", then she will retaliate by hitting/kicking Sadie. Cannot leave these two girls in the same room without adult supervision.

Loves the bouncer, just like sister.
